You know, the spam subject obfuscators are getting to the point where it's not even possible to tell what they're trying to say.

I'm presuming it's another bargain-basement Viagra ad, but really, this is getting excessive.

I just figured out my plan for pushing forward in the game industry.

My job title: Tools, Algorithms, and Optimizations.

See, nobody really does those things. Most people want more glamorous positions - like, say, graphics, or AI. Nobody really wants to be a tool design, and thus, everyone sucks at it.

I can go in saying "I would love to be a tools designer" and then explain to them exactly *why* they need a tools designer. I'll talk to their artist and ask them what features they want the most (and trust me they will have a list) and then say "I can do that. Just hire me and you'll get all of that." I can make their game look better *and* run better, I can make their tools run faster and do more at the same time - there isn't a game studio on the planet that wouldn't leap at that opportunity. Even here at Snowblind - where one of the effective rules of the company is "we need good tools!" - the stuff I've developed has increased our game's quality massively.

So there it is. It's a job that nobody wants to do, that I happen to love, and that I'm really good at - and a job that makes an enormous difference to the game.
