One of the things Linux needs to fix to become mainstream:

LESS CONFIGURATION OPTIONS.

When I'm choosing the default option 95% of the time and it's still asking me, something's wrong. Your average user does not care about md5-hashed passwords or NIS, and for that matter, neither do I. I don't even know what NIS is. Where's the option where I say "do everything for me and give me a good working computer"?

On the other hand, Debian isn't really designed for effortless installs anyway. So hey.
