It allows paragraph breaks in your profile.
I don't know what it is about online dating sites, but they either s/<p>// or s/<p>/<p>/. The second, I get. The first, I don't. It makes it really hard to write anything that doesn't come out like verbal drool.

Incidentally, if you understand what I mean in that paragraph, you're a geek.
(Update: It almost posted right. As usual, I am godlike in the things that I pay close attention to, and then end up screwing the pooch on the parts I forgot to double-check. The mental image this has given me is disturbing at best. The fact that my mental image is wearing Spider Jerusalem glasses - for no obvious conscious reason - amuses me greatly.)
