Various people asking about "sane in the good way".

I've long since realized that there's "insane in the bad way" and "insane in the good way". "Insane in the good way" is someone who makes bizarre mental connections, races off on adventures for no particularly good reason, and basically acts irrational but has a whole lot of fun with it. "Insane in the bad way" is someone who calls you up at 3am asking you to translate what their hamster is saying.

Recently I realized there's no reason to restrict this to *insanity*. Clearly there's also "sane in the bad way" and "sane in the good way". "Sane in the good way" is someone who's stable but interesting. "Sane in the bad way" is someone who is incredibly dull.

I think these two axes are pretty orthogonal - you could be sane in the good way and insane in the good way simultaneously. I think that's something to reach for, personally.
