There exist such things as infrared cameras. They're generally considered "heat-detection cameras", but really it depends on what part of the spectrum you view. You can get "near-infrared" photos, which look bizarre and unearthly. If you do something really clever you can preserve some of the red light, on a different channel, and get things like this. There's also such a thing as an ultraviolet camera. Oddly, nobody seems to care about these as much. Here's the only example I could find.

I wonder if it would be possible to rig up an "expanded-spectrum" camera. Make the red channel be near-infrared, make the blue channel be near-ultraviolet, and leave green as it is (or expand it to cover the old red and blue as well.)

Seeing through the eyes of an alien, really.
